About University of Colorado Boulder
Boulder, Colorado is considered to be the most educated city in the United States by Forbes Magazine. At the University of Colorado, Boulder campus, students will find a community of scholars and learners, in addition to the school belonging to the Association of American Universities.
Here, students can major in sciences, engineering and many other disciplines. Colorado University, Boulder is also a Tier I research university. Founded in 1876, CU-Boulder is situated on 600 acres in the heart of the city.
Incorporated as Boulder City in 1873, Boulder was largely a gold, silver and coal mining town. Located where the Rocky Mountains meet the Great Plains, the City of Boulder sits in Boulder Valley.
At CU-Boulder, the hiking club is the longest-running student organization on campus. Surrounded by 36,000 acres of open space, hiking is very popular with trails differing in degree of difficulty.
Run by the students, the Big Freakin' Deal Film Festival takes place each April. Complete with paparazzi, awards and an opening number, this extravaganza is dedicated to show student films. Other Campuses: Anschutz Medical Campus, Colorado Springs Campus, and Denver Campus.
